Visa Information

 

All overseas nationals who wish to enter the UK must satisfy the immigration officer at the port of arrival that they meet the requirements of the UK Immigration Rules. Some people must have a valid entry clearance before arrival.

Children who require entry clearance (see countries listed below) will require form IM2A and INF3

What is an Entry Clearance?

An entry clearance is a visa or an entry certificate issued to a passenger before travel to the UK.

Must I get an Entry Clearance?

If you are a national of one of the countries below you must have a valid UK visa on each occasion that you enter the UK.

How to Apply

Fill in form IM2A and INF3 which you can get free of charge from the nearest British Mission offering an entry clearance service, or from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. You can also download the forms from: http://www.fco.gov.uk/travel/imm_visa.asp   http://www.fco.gov.uk/travel/download.asp

You should check with the Mission whether they are able to process your application. If they cannot, they will advise you where to apply.

Your application form may be submitted by hand or by post together with:

Fees must be paid in local currency (ie the currency of the country in which the British Mission is located). You should not send cash through the post, but bank drafts, postal or money orders payable to the Mission may be enclosed.

The entry clearance officer may then be able to decide your application without further enquiries. However, you may have to attend an interview, and in addition may be asked for further documents.

MEDICAL TREATMENT IN THE UK: With few exceptions, visitors to the UK are not entitled to free medical treatment. The English Country School fees include full medical insurance. You may be asked for details: see the reverse of the Course Fees form.
